Domestic Abuse

COVID-19 Update

There has been an alarming increase in the number of calls to the National Domestic Abuse Helpline but no comparative rise in reports to the Police.

While home is a safe haven for most people, sadly the lockdown presents a vulnerable and dangerous situation for others.  If you are worried about your partner’s behaviour or even worried about your own behaviour towards your partner, you can visit the Tameside website www.tameside.gov.uk/domesticabuse for further information and guidance or you can contact the National Domestic Abuse Helpline, which is open 24/7 365 days per year on 0808 2000 247.
