New to Reception Starting Out and the Application Form

 

Copies of the new “Starting Out” booklet, and the application form, will be available online from early November and can be accessed through Tameside’s website

The school follows the Tameside Admissions Procedures. Children are admitted into full time education in the September of the school year in which they become 5 years old.

 

Nursery

Letters regarding nursery places for September 2017 will be

sent out first class on Friday 10th March 2017

The Nursery takes children when they are 3 years old on a part time basis. It is important to note that admission to the nursery does not give automatic admission to full time school. An application form must be completed. Application forms can be obtained from the school office. We have adopted the TMBC policy for nursery admissions. Click on the link below to view.

Nursery Admissions Policy

Starting for the First Time as a Reception Child

This is a very important event for all the family and we try to make the experience a happy one. Reception children are admitted in the September following their fourth birthday. Children will attend part time for the first two weeks. Staff are available to discuss any issues and are always pleased to see you.

 

Key stage One and Key Stage 2

8.55 a.m. - 3.15 p.m.

Breaks

Children who go home for lunch should return to school no earlier than 1.10pm

15 minute break for Key Stage 1 in the morning and afternoon.

15 minute break for Key Stage 2 in the morning.

 

Below are the actual teaching hours in a normal school day. Teaching time includes Religious Education but excludes daily worship, pupil registration and breaks, including lunch.


Reception and Key Stage One: 21 hours

Key Stage Two: 23.5 hours

 

This meets the minimum teaching hours recommended in the Department for Education Circular 7190.
